Background of the Programme
Retailing is impacted as many other sectors by the forces of disruption including technology, Government policies, changes in demographic trends, customer preferences, new retailing models such as E commerce, Malls and hyper markets, etc.
New marketing tools such as business analytics, new payment tools such as e-payment mechanisms have redefined the business models of retailing. Identification of customer segments/ propitious niche and precise targeting of marketing and sales techniques, effective Customer Relations Management are very important for retaining competitive advantage in these fast changing business environments.
The proposed MDP is intended to throw light on these aspects and facilitate proactive strategies for survival and growth in these disruptive times.
